While most girls’ basketball teams in Nassau County were off for the February break, the Lady Dragons of Division Avenue High School were hard at work preparing for the playoffs.
The Dragons are the number one seed in this year’s county tournament. Preparing each other to play basketball was just one of the helpful things the Lady Dragons were involved in. The Girls Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball teams at Division Avenue High School conducted a free-throw shooting fundraiser to help aid the people of Haiti who were recently devastated by a hurricane. Thanks to some good foul shooting and the generosity of the Division Avenue family, the girls were able to donate $1,000 to the Haitian relief effort.
