The seventh grade boys basketball team finished an undefeated season winning all 11 of their games. Season highlights included the defeat of an extremely talented Berner Middle School Team by a score of 45-44. Brandon Kustek had a game high and season high 20 points.
Earlier in the season, Salk defeated a tough Seaford team with the help of Greg Baumstein scoring team high 15 points. Other victories were against Grand Avenue, led by Brian Perez with a team high 14 points, and Wantagh, led by Ryan Cunningham with a team high 13 points. Memorable games were also played against cross-town rival Wisdom Lane and a tough Howitt Middle School Team.
As usual, the Seahawks pride themselves on playing strong defense. The Seahawks held their opponents to under 40 points in nine out of 11 of their games, under 30 points in six games, and under 20 points in three games. This was possible because of the outstanding effort by Brian Quinn, Dean Peluso, Paul Giuliano, Marcus Ferreira, Matt McNally, Chris Roditis, Phil Carucci, Jack Wall, Joe Ruzzo, Brian and Dan Monahan, Thomas and Kevin Clifford and Eric Pappas.
Coach Aiello would like to thank the entire team for its hard work and dedication throughout the season. This was a terrific season, one to remember and hopefully one to build upon in years to come. “Go Seahawks!”
