Several Island Trees athletes were honored at the 2009 Nassau County Boys Soccer awards dinner.
Seniors Pat Lehosky, Guiseppe Ferraro and Bill Kuch were honored with All-Conference selections. Top honors were given to Andrew Willoughby who received All-County recognition and Nic Jorge who received All-County honorable mention.

The annual MacArthur Holiday Wrestling tournament took place on Dec. 5. The event marks the opening event for the MacArthur Generals who look to kick off the season on a high note. They are also working to end the decade on top of Nassau County wrestling.
On Nov. 14 Lucia Montefusco, Jenn McLaughlin and Lindsey McLaughlin represented the best of Nassau County at the cross-country state meet that was held in Plattsburgh in upstate New York.

On Sunday, Nov. 22, the team attended UCA’s competition at Hofstra, where teams from the tri-state area competed in many different divisions, each hoping to receive an invitation bid to perform at Nationals.
Coming off an inaugural campaign last season, the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams have made great progress this season as they raced against some of the premier cross country programs teams in Nassau County.
The Wisdom Lane seventh grade girls soccer team finished the season with four exciting victories. The Wildcats opened their season with a victory versus crosstown rival Salk Middle School 5-4 and defeated them later in the season 7-3.
The Nassau Hiking and Outdoor Club (NHOC), which meets regularly at the Eisenhower Park Special Events Center and frequently hosts hikes through the park, has just concluded its 36th annual Thanksgiving on the Trail celebration.
