Dominic Malfettone, of Sanford, Florida (formerly of Levittown for over 40 years) passed away on March 14, 2012 at the age of 91. Husband of Carol Malfettone (deceased), father of Louis Malfettone, John Malfettone, Phillip Malfettone (deceased) and Dominic Malfettone. Grandfather of Michael Malfettone, Thomas Malfettone, Phillip Malfettone, Yovonne McMilliam, Derek Malfettone, Louis Malfettone and Louisa O’Brian. Great-grandfather of six. A memorial will be in New York at a later date.
Mitchel Mikail Klinkowitz, age 95, passed away March 10, 2012 at home. Born Nov. 4, 1916, in New York City, the son of Anthony Klinkowitz and Olga (Petrochevitz) Klinkowitz.
Mike was a WWII Army veteran who served his country in the South Pacific. He retired from Con Edison of New York after a career of over 35 years. His family came first in his life, but Mike also enjoyed golfing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Marie Ray Strianese, a 50-year resident of Levittown, died on Feb. 23, 2012. Wife of the late Irven Ray and Anthony Strianese. Mother of Pamela Bertin (Richard Rantz), Patricia Russo (Michael), Kane Krabbeler (Bob) and the late Barbara Smith (Calvin). Grandmother of 11. Great-grandmother of two. Dean Hastings, of Riverhead, formerly of Levittown, passed away Feb. 22, 2012. Retired 35-year employee of Grumman Corp. Husband of Mildred. Father of Daniel (Carol) and Julie Engle (Peter). Grandfather of Daniel, Andrew, Jessica and Allison. Also survived by his sister, Mary House, and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Feb. 27 at St. Martin of Tours RC Church with interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
James A. Slattery Jr., of Levittown, died on Feb. 20, 2012. He was a teacher in the Levittown School District and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Husband of Nancy. Father of Neal (Terry), James (Kathryn), Thomas (Lana), Amy (Andres) and the late Brian and Christopher. Brother of Peggy and Bill.
