On a chilly, blustery Veterans Day members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9592 and American Legion Post 1711 led the ceremonies for those who served in the Armed Forces.
Legislature Dennis Dunne greeted members of the community, family and friends along with members of the Levittown Fire Department who attended. The National Anthem and a prayer followed his greeting. He spoke of why we recognize those who served this country and thankfully returned home. Town Supervisor Kate Murray also attended and spoke of her father who is a veteran.
The Post Commanders spoke briefly and thanked Dennis for his accurate and complete speech of what the Veterans Day holiday means to this country, of the sacrifices made and why we are the great nation that we are.
The ceremonies concluded with the singing of God Bless America with a special chorus sung by just the children in attendance.
