On April 21 the Levittown Public Library held the 2009/10 budget vote and election for library trustee. The budget passed with 199 voters in favor and 61 voters not in favor. The total tax levy amount for the 2009/10 year is $6,346,511, which represents a $112,063 increase over the previous year. The total annual average of library tax per household is $368.83, compared to $362.32 last year.
Steven Dalton was elected as library trustee for a five-year term ending June 30, 2014. The Levittown Public Library would like to thank its patrons for their continuous support, and it looks forward to assisting them.

The 2009/10 Island Trees Public Library budget passed on April 28 with 164 yes votes and 47 no votes. The total tax levy amount for the 2009/10 year is $1,082,530, which represents no increase over the previous year.
Current trustee Ann Harris won another five-year term with 157 votes. Challenger John Shuman nabbed the other open trustee spot with 99 votes. His term is for two years. They beat out current trustee Donnalee Dugal, who garnered 93 votes and Ned Bushati who earned 80 votes.
