Need a gift for someone who served or is still serving our great country, or maybe you may want to honor someone's memory? The Nassau County Veterans Monument Fund, Inc. is accepting names for the Walls of Honor, located at Veterans Plaza in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.

We are a nonprofit organization not affiliated with Nassau County or any other government agency. We offer all veterans and members of the Merchant Marine throughout the United States an honored place on these walls. Our vision is to have the names of all veterans or merchant mariners, whether living or deceased, who have served our great country during war or peace, inscribed on our walls.

Space is available for those who are interested in including their name or that of a loved one. Proof of military service and a contribution of $100 per name are required.

I must stress we are not a memorial.
