Brooke Rogala from Division Avenue High School in Levittown has been honored as the News 12 Long Island/Citibank Scholar Athlete of the Week, an award that recognizes significant achievements in the classroom, as well as on the playing field.

A role model at Division Avenue High School, Rogala is captain of the volleyball, basketball and lacrosse teams and has led all three to the postseason. She is also ranked first in her class of 283 students with a 99 unweighted GPA. Her SAT score of 2330 was nearly flawless. Bound for Hofstra, Rogala hopes to be a teacher one day. Notes her coach Kristy Grillo, "Brooke is always that person that the other students look up to, especially when they get to the varsity level."

"Brooke Rogala represents the high levels of academic and athletic achievement that are hallmarks of the News 12 and Citibank Scholar Athlete program," said Pat Dolan, president of News 12 Networks and News Director for News 12 Long Island. "We congratulate Brooke, her family, and Division Avenue High School for earning this recognition and we wish her continued success this school year and in all her future endeavors."
