At its recent holiday dinner gathering, the Levittown Community Council installed its new board of directors.
Taking over the helm as president is Mauro Cassano. 1st vice president goes to Lowell Wolf; 2nd vice president to Bob Koenig; recording secretary to Louise Cassano; corresponding secretary to Barbara Fisch; treasurer to Ginny Isola and community affairs coordinator to Frank McKenna and membership chair to Anita Thompson.
Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes installed the new board and presented a citation to outgoing President Gary Fisch, who remains on the board.
The Community Council is an organization that brings together organizations and residents of the Levittown and Island Trees communities to bring unity and pride. Its signature events include a Home for the Holidays contest, which will announce its winners of the best decorated homes soon; Winter Festival, which takes place on Saturday, Feb. 14; an Earth Day cleanup in April; Junior Volunteer of the Year in May and Lazy Days of Summer Picnic in July.
