Hempstead Town Councilman Gary Hudes recently presented an official Town of Hempstead Certificate of Recognition to Levittown Library Director Celeste Watman in honor of the completion of the facility's recent renovation. Explaining the renovation, Vice President Santer said, "We took existing storage space and made it into two additional meeting rooms. The library also now has Wi-Fi services. The board's vision was that the area should not just be a place of stacks, but a community center." Councilman Hudes said, "I was thrilled to see the improvements and modernization of the Levittown Library, which continues to be a showplace and source of information for our community. When I noticed last year that our library was not wireless Wi-Fi, I made the suggestion. The Board immediately embraced the idea and ran with it. Now the residents of our community can visit the library with personal laptops, adding a new dimension to our Levittown Library."
