The Blue Dragons lost in the championship game to cross town rival MacArthur 69-59 on Friday night in front of a packed house at MacArthur High School. With under four minutes in the fourth quarter and Division trailing by one point, Macarthur scored five straight points behind Kevin Monahan's three pointer to extend their lead to six. MacArthur's Bobby Thomas made 7 of 8 free throws to seal the win. Division's Bobby Nagelberg had a game high 24 points to earn All Tournament selection, along with Senior Mike Agunzo. This was the first time in the Jeff Shaw Tournament that Division played in the championship game. In Division's first round game against Mepham the Dragons connected on 12 three pointers to beat Mepham 71-47. Senior Bobby Nagelberg scored a game high 23 points and Senior Mike Agunzo had 11. Senior Stephen Switzer led Division with 10 rebounds. In the semifinal game against Calhoun, Bobby Nagelberg was at it again dropping 32 points, scoring 16 second half points. Seniors Mike Agunzo had 11 points and Kevin Dexter scored 7. The Dragons defense held Calhoun to two field goals in the second quarter. Division will start its League season at Garden City on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
