The boys varsity soccer team defeated Manhasset 5-1. Goals were scored by Tom Steinwall, Mike Gronenthal, Tom Enders and Stephan Barea with two. Assists were made by J.T. Famularo, Andrew Willoughby and Casey Hastings. With the two goals, Stephan Barea broke 2 Island Trees scoring records. The first is most goals in a season and the second is most career goals.
In League Meet #4, Michelle Duffy was once again first for the team and first in the 5k (3.1 miles) race run at Bethpage State Park. Jade Coyle was 2 seconds off her personal best with a time of 22:39. Coyle finished third out of the 14 runners in this race. Katherine Malewski and Megan Hollett decided to run in the General J.V. race as the team was unable to field the 5 runners due to injuries. In League Meet #5 Michelle Duffy was 1st for the team and first in the race. Once again Jade Coyle was second for I.T. and 3rd in the field of 12 runners. Katherine Malewski finished third and fourth for I.T. and 6th and 7th in the race.
The Island Trees Middle School Football team lost a heartbreaker to Plainedge 7-0. The team played a fantastic game giving an excellent defensive effort before giving up the winning TD with two minutes left. Rich Wisor, Kevin Strauss, Jeremy Garcia, Matt Woolever, Andres Quintero and Brendan McDonough had a great game.
The girls seventh grade soccer team played an exciting game against Wisdom Lane. Marissa Gallante scored a goal in the second quarter. Jessica Waldron played a great game on defense, while Kristen Nigro, Jessica Bohorquez, Natalia Carvajal and Gabby Petito played an outstanding offense.
The seventh grade boys soccer team won their fifth game of the season defeating Hicksville 4-1. Adonis Martinez was dominating at times on the field, scoring two of the goals and getting two assists as well. Jeff Valencia scored the other 2 goals for the Bulldogs. Rocco Privatera also had an assist. Eddie Sanchez had 10 saves, while Keith Scofield dominated the defense. The Dawgs are now 5-2-1.
The Boys' eighth grade Soccer team went into OT and ended in a 3-3 tie against Hicksville. Great plays on the field were made by Andrew Barbine in net, Jose Carvajal, Jon Rivera, Lucas Panebianco, Steven Schmidt, Richie Kaiser, Ted Connelly and Devin Gaudiello. The eighth grade Bulldogs finished out an unbelievable 5-3-1 season coming back from 0-3 at the start of the season. Coach Keyser would like to thank the entire team for an awesome season.
