The Tampa Bay Rays organization recently announced Jesse Darcy the 2008 Pitcher of the Year for their Class A Affiliate Columbus Catfish. Darcy, 23, a Division Avenue H.S. graduate recorded a 3.05 ERA, which led Columbus and was sixth in the South Atlantic League while his 98 strikeouts were a team best. He compiled a 6.53 strikeout-to-walk ratio with 133 IP, 124 hits, 98 Ks, 15 BBs.

Darcy was honored during an awards ceremony prior to the Tampa Bay vs. Minnesota Twins game at Tropicana Field in Tampa, FL on Sept. 19. Darcy is currently offering pitching lessons for those 12 years and older. Visit jessedarcy.com for more information.
