Annie Park of Levittown was among four others selected by the American Junior Golf Association to represent the United States in the second-annual Evian Masters Juniors Cup taking place July 19-20. The Evian Masters Juniors Cup, which will be staged at the Evian Masters Golf Club in Evian les Bains, France, will immediately precede the Evian Masters - one of the world's premier women's professional golf events.
After recently winning the AJGA Cliffs Championship in April, Park has seen her Polo Golf Ranking rise to No. 26, making her the second-highest ranked 2013 graduate. Through one year of competing in AJGA events, Park, 13, has never finished outside the top-10 in her seven career starts.
Park will be competing with Kyung Kim of Chandler, AZ., Trey Kaahanui of Tempe, AZ and A.J. McInerney of Henderson, NV.
Conducted by the French Golf Federation and the European Golf Association, the Evian Masters Juniors Cup is an international mixed individual and team competition that will be decided over two 18-hole rounds. A boys' and girls' champion will be crowned along with a Nation's Cup, a team trophy that will be determined by the three best scores each day.
In an effort to remain objective in the selection of the U.S. team, the AJGA used its Polo Golf Rankings to award playing spots to the most deserving members who fit the age criteria of being 14 years or younger.
