Mahon, McDonough Vie for Seat on Island Trees Board
There are two incumbents running unopposed and two women vying for one available seat on the Island Trees Board of Education. The incumbents, President Kenneth Rochon and Trustee Robert Condela, are running unopposed. Incumbent and Vice President Patricia Mahon is being challenged by Kim McDonough.

Island Trees Proposes 2008/09 Budget
2.60 Percent Increase Is Lower Than Previous Years --
On Tuesday May 20, residents across Long Island will decide whether or not to adopt their school districts' budget proposals. Residents of Island Trees will vote on their district's proposed budget at the Michael F. Stokes School from noon until 9 p.m.

Island Trees Athletics
The varsity baseball club finished off a sweep of Glen Cove by a score of 8-1. The Bulldogs used a combination of great pitching, solid defense, speed and power in this dominant performance. I.T. totaled three home runs and 10 stolen bases as a team. Nicky Marchelos tossed a complete game, going seven strong innings, while scattering eight hits and striking out three for his fourth win of the season. Nicky also blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to seal the deal.

Island Trees Parents Form Wrestling Booster Club
Parents of the boys who wrestle for the Island Trees High School, Memorial Middle School and Kids Teams have banded together to form a Booster Club. The booster club is seeking donations from residents, past and present wrestlers and other alumni of Island Trees who wish to contribute to this cause.
