(The following letter was sent to Commissioner Cary Welt, chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners, East Meadow Fire District and to the Tribune for publication.)

It has come to our attention that the East Meadow Fire District has apparently already started installing cell towers or test towers on East Meadow firehouses.

In the past, it has always been the protocol of applicants desirous of placing cell towers in our community to first make an explanatory presentation before our association. We now urge that you halt the installation process pending a presentation at a time to be agreed upon. We also would like the cell tower provider to be present to answer questions on the proposal.

Please get back to our association at your earliest convenience on this most important matter.
