Robbery Squad detectives from the Nassau County Police Department are investigating a robbery that occurred on Thursday, Dec. 20 at approximately 4:15 p.m. in Levittown.

According to detectives, a male, white, 40s, thin build, wearing a blue windbreaker with a white stripe down the sleeve, entered North Fork Bank, located at 3721 Hempstead Tpke., approached the teller and handed him a note demanding money. Police stated that after obtaining an unknown amount of U.S. currency, the subject fled the bank on foot eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. At the time of the robbery there were 14 employees and no customers present, police reported. No injuries were reported.
