Steven Connell

Steven Connell, Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Health in the Island Trees School District was presented the 2007 Athletic Recognition Award by the Nassau Zone of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. This award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of her/his educational contributions to students, school district and community.

The award was presented to Connell at a ceremony held on Dec. 17 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Mr. Connell will be a presenter at the Nassau Zone Conference to be held on Feb. 29, 2008 at C.W. Post College. Connell has been employed by the district for the past 31 years and he is completing his 16th year as athletic director. Superintendent James Parla congratulated Connell for receiving this award and his service to the district.
