The Levittown Breakers U10 Girls Travel team ended their first Long Island Junior Soccer League season on a great note, taking Second Place in their division with a record of 6-2-1. The girls clinched second place on the last game of the season playing a very tough and previously undefeated Garden City team. The Breakers went into that game knowing that they lost a close one earlier in the year, and they were determined that the outcome would be different this time around. The girls played inspired soccer all game long and they took advantage of the very stingy defense by netting the only goal of the game about half way through the second. After the Breakers offense scored, the defense took over by shutting down Garden City's very fast team and keeping them off the score board to preserve the 1-0 victory. Although the Breakers had many close games in the past, this victory was by far the most satisfying and it ended the season on an extremely positive note.
The team features excellent goalkeeping by Brynn McLaughlin and Cassidy Ayers, the "lights out" defense is anchored by Kasey Bray, Alessandra Macchia, and Megan Conroy, the speedy midfielders that never stop running are Amanda Costales, and Jacqueline Mass, and the potent offense includes Shannon Hupert, Bribri Impastato, Ryan Kenney, and Stephanie Rubbino. Coach Jon and Coach Michelle would like to thank the parents for their tremendous support throughout this first season, and they look forward to more of the same in the seasons to come. Congratulations to all the girls on a job very well done. Your coaches, parents, and friends couldn't be prouder or happier for you.
