Kiwanis Vice President Lisa-Jean Santer and Rich Santer present the completed Governor's Project Banner Patch to Club President Susie Trenkle.

Joe Corace, 2006-2007 New York State Kiwanis Governor, last year challenged all Kiwanis Clubs in the state to complete a six-part project that would involve Scouts, health, local heroes, seniors, family and sports. The Levittown Kiwanis Club completed all six parts, receiving a banner patch for each part which when put together created a large, circular patch.
For the Everyday Hero patch, Levittown presented five Everyday Hero medals to five deserving community members including the club's own Past Lieutenant Governor Steve Haller and Kyle Ray, son of Immediate Past President Peter Ray.
For the Senior Project patch, the club invited residents of local senior centers to attend the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Luncheon. For the Health Awareness patch, board member Dr. Jackie Nogan ran a health table at the LEADD fair. For the Family Day project, the club held Levittown Pride Day with a host of fun activities for the whole family. For the Sports project, the club hosted the Father's Day 5K run. For the Scouting Project, Girl Scout and Wisdom Lane Builders Club President Rachal Lachow informed the club about a Girl Scout project that Kiwanis could support.
Levittown Kiwanis Vice President Lisa Santer and member Rich Santer coordinated all the information to submit the club's application for the banner patches. They presented the completed patch to the club at a recent meeting.
Please save all your soda/drink flip-top tabs and all your General Mills box tops and Campbell Soup labels and turn them in to the Levittown Kiwanis Club at one of our meetings. The box tops and soup labels go to St. Jude's Ranch for Children. When St. Jude's reaches 300,000 box tops and soup labels they are able to redeem them for a Chrysler Caravan. The soda tabs are now being donated to Mercy Hospital.
Anyone who would like to make a donation can call Club President Susie Trenkle at 516-804-8906.
