The Levittown Kiwanis Club held its second Band Showcase at Levittown Hall on Saturday, Nov. 10. Ten local bands performed at the showcase. Approximately $750 was raised through this event. The funds will be used to help the club adopt local families in need for the holidays. The Levittown Kiwanis Club is extremely grateful to the participating bands: Shiloh Jolie, Eleven Forty 3, Brightline, Stereo Skyline, Airdate, Beyond the Horizon, All Grown Up, Auburn, Casari and just back from a European tour, Drama for the Masses.
Those who brought non-perishable food items received a raffle ticket. Prizes were generously donated by Eleven Forty 3, Brightline, Stereo Skyline, Airdate, All Grown Up, Casari and Drama for the Masses.
The club would like to thank Kyle Ray, who coordinated the band showcase.
The Levittown Kiwanis Club sponsors four Key Clubs, the high school equivalent of Kiwanis: Division Avenue High School, MacArthur High School, Gerald Claps Career and Technical Center and Island Trees High School Key Clubs.
The Key Clubs are student-run replicas of our Levittown Kiwanis Club. The students pay dues to join, elect local and national officers, meet on a weekly basis and go to a state convention. In addition, they decide on fundraisers to help numerous charities. They raise all their own money and put it back into the community. They perform a wonderful service for Levittown.
The Key Clubs are one of Levittown's Kiwanis Club's greatest assets. In recognition of Key Club Month, the Levittown Kiwanis Club has invited all four Key Clubs to not only attend the Kiwanis Club's meetings but to run the meeting. On Thursday, Nov. 8, MacArthur Key Club President AJ Scerbo presided over the meeting with members of his Key Club and the Division Avenue High School Key Club present and participating in the Kiwanis Club's meeting. It was an extremely successful meeting.
