Nina Yunker died peacefully Nov. 10, 2007 at the age of 97. She was the loving mother of two Levittown Division Avenue High School alumni, William (Bill) Yunker (Class of 1965), resident of Wayland, MA, and Eric Yunker (Class of 1970), resident of Sausalito, CA. She was the wife of the late William L. Yunker, Jr.
Mrs. Yunker was born in Adrano, Italy and spent her formative years in Sicily. She came to the United States at the age of 18 and resided in New York City until she moved to Levittown in 1962. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved being with her family most of all. She possessed a zest for life and made a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a love of music, especially opera, was a fabulous cook, and was also a lover of nature and animals, especially cats and birds. She was a great fan of the Division Avenue Blue Dragons football and baseball teams when her sons were students there.
After living in Levittown for 30 years, she moved to Framingham, MA. For those of us who knew and loved her, she will live on forever in our hearts.
Funeral services and burial will take place in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
