Opinion

My husband and I wish to thank the committee that organized the 60th Anniversary Parade. As an original homeowner, we were treated like royalty. Our Grand Marshal sashes were bright and so nicely done. We were driven along Hempstead Turnpike by Joey in his '55 Chevy that was in beautiful condition. When we arrived at the shopping center, chairs were waiting for us, umbrellas passed out to keep us out of the direct sun and water bottles were available.

When the brief ceremonies were over, we were given 60th Anniversary mugs filled with delicious candy. Then, to top it all off, transportation was available to take us back to our cars or homes. The committee thought of everything.

This has inspired us to make it to the 70th Anniversary in this wonderful community.

Thank you all!
