Levittown Central Baseball will host 2008 early bird registration through Sept. 28. Registration will be held on Sept. 18 and Sept. 25 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at American Legion Post 1711 on North Jerusalem Avenue in Levittown. 4-year-olds (instructional) - $50, T-Ball and Rookies (ages 5-7) - $75, Farms, Minors, Majors (ages 8-12) - $95, Seniors (ages 13-18) - $155. There is a $15 discount for two or more children in the league (except 4-year-olds and seniors). All new registrants must bring a copy of their birth certificate. LSW is also holding early registration for the 2008 spring season of baseball, softball, boys senior league baseball ages 13-17, and boys/girls kickball ages 3-4 every Sunday from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Alken Avenue/Cuomo Field Concession Stand adjacent to the turf baseball field. Levittown North Baseball will be holding its early bird registration for the upcoming 2008 season on Friday Sept. 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday Sept. 15 from noon to 3 p.m. at Whelan Field located on Wantagh Avenue and Red Maple Drive. The rain location is at the Hunt Road School Bus Facility located on Hunt Road just East of the East Broadway School. If it is raining, we will be in the first white building in the rear parking lot. Registration is available to children ages 4 thru 18. Their age is determined by how old they will be on April 31, 2008. New registrants need to bring a copy of their birth certificates. We accept check, money order or cash. There are also fall ball spaces available. Fall ball season opens on Sept. 15, and runs for seven weeks. The children play on Saturdays only. The Levittown Athletic Club began the 2007 fall softball season on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Azalea Road Field. There are almost 200 girls playing in the league this year, with 6 10U teams, 6 12U teams and 3 17U teams. It is not too late to sign up. The fall season runs for 11 weeks, so missing a game is no problem, there is still plenty of softball to be played.

Bowling - Ages 4 - 14 - co-ed - Divisions - Bumpers, Bantams, Juniors and Seniors. Fee: $35 plus weekly bowling fees: Bumpers & Bantams $7.50 per week, Juniors and Seniors $9.50 per week. Includes: free shoes, bowling shirt, seasonal parties and trophy / medals. Program begins on Friday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. or Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. at the South Levittown Lanes. Family discounts available.

Karate - Ages 7 - 18 years - co-ed - Learn the art of self-defense and discipline, while having fun. Classes held on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Memorial Education Center starting in October. Session Info: Beginners 5 p.m. Intermediate 6 p.m. and Advanced 7 p.m. Fee: $45 initial plus $70 every three months. Family discounts available.

Tennis - Ages 7 - 15 years - co-ed, Lessons on Modern Indoor Tennis Courts, Professional Tennis Instruction. Bring Racquet and sneakers (balls will be provided). Classes at Sportime, 101 Norcross Ave., Bethpage (933-8500). 10 registrants to one instructor per class. These are considered beginner classes although everyone is welcome to join. Classes on Sunday evenings starting Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. Program runs for eight weekly one-hour sessions. Age groups 7, 8 and 9 and the other 10 and older. Fee: $90.

Twirling - Ages 5 - 18 - co-ed, students will learn all aspects of Competitive - World Class - Baton Twirling. Registered instructors. Levittown Cool Twirlers, are currently ESTA & Star Power Grand Champions and will be competing regionally and nationally again this year as well as hosting local recitals. Classes for new students will be held on Tuesdays 6:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. One baton and T-shirt included. Fee: $45 initial plus $70 every three months. Registration dates are Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Registrations will all take place at the NCPAL - Levittown Unit -PAL office located at 64 Division Ave., Levittown - Suite 101.
