The 8th Squad of the Nassau County Police Department recently reported the arrest of an East Meadow youth for robbery on Aug. 15 at 11:30 p.m. in Levittown.
According to detectives, it is alleged that the defendant. a 16-year-old, of East Meadow, acting in concert with another youth not yet arrested, confronted and demanded money from the 15-year-old victim as he was walking on Bluegrass Lane behind the Levittown Public Library at 9:35 p.m. The victim relinquished cash and both suspects fled westbound onto Hempstead Turnpike, police stated. The victim was uninjured.
8th Precinct Officers Schmidt and Kolyer responded to the robbery and subsequent to investigation, arrested the subject approximately one and a half hours later, charging him with Robbery 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Aug. 16 in First District Court. The investigation is ongoing, police reported.
