For the 2008 softball season, the Levittown Athletic Club Girls Fastpitch Softball League will be offering girls in grades 7-11, who are eligible to play on either a 16U, 14U or 12U team, the choice to play only on an LAC Pony Team. Tryouts will take place in August. Further information, including fees, will be available on the new website, www.lacsoftball.com.

Eligible girls will not be required to play on a regular LAC spring season team. However, these girls do have the option of playing in the Babe Ruth regular spring season and the LAC Pony team.

This is aimed at helping girls in grades 7-11 who already have a full day of school, practice, games and homework.

LAC will also be hosting a Summer Clinic for registered players from Aug. 27-30 from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $15 per day per player. A local high school coach, Melissa Young, will be the lead instructor for this clinic. These sessions will also be held at Azalea Road Field. Pre-registration is requested by telephone or email.

LAC is also offering fall season softball starting in September and ending in early November. The games will be played mostly on Saturdays, with Sundays being held open for rainouts. The fee is $60 per player.
