This month's Spotlight on Business is Jack Poyer of the Meenan Oil Company. Jack has been the Levittown sales representative of the Meenen Oil Company for 27 years. Meenan Oil Company has been in business for over 70 years and is one of the original suppliers of oil to the Levitt homes. In addition to supplying heating oil, they provide a comprehensive service contract, heating and air conditioning equipment and home security systems.

Meenan Oil has more than 30 trucks in Nassau and Suffolk Counties to ensure customers with on time deliveries. They have their own storage and distribution facilities and always have an abundant supply of oil for their customers. With one of the highest ratios of mechanics to customers in the oil industry, the response time is extremely fast. Approximately 50 Meenan employees reside in Levittown which includes 9 service technicians.

A long time member of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce, Meenan Oil is also a member of the Oil Heat Institute of Long Island. They are sponsors of Levittown Central Baseball.

Jack is a graduate of St. Anthony's High School in Huntington and holds a Degree in Business Education from Husson College in Bangor, Maine. He is a Nassau County resident for 26 years. Married for over 30 years, he has a son and four daughters. As a father of 5 children he also coached soccer for 8 years.

The Spotlight on Business is selected every month by a business card lottery of Chamber members in attendance at our monthly General Meeting.
