The Levittown Athletic Club hosted the Italian Bollate 15U Girls Softball Team for a week. The Bollate players lived in the LAC player's homes during their stay in America.

The girls arrived on Wednesday evening and on Thursday they all went to Jones Beach. They told us that the beach is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Bollate and it is all stones and no waves.

A tournament was held over the weekend of June 29-July 1, with the Bollate team, LAC 16U & LAC 14U and the Lady Diamonds Pros, from Queens, 16U and 14U. Friday and Saturday were seeding games, LAC 16U was 1st, Bollate 2nd, Lady Diamond Pros 16U 3rd, Lady Diamond Pros 14U 4th and LAC 14U seeded 5th.

LAC 14U defeated the Diamond Pros in extra innings but then were defeated by LAC 16U. Diamond Pros 16U defeated Bollate 3-2 and the final game was LAC 16U against Lady Diamond Pros 16U.

It was an excellent game, and going into the 7th and final inning LAC 16U were down 2-0. LAC loaded the bases with no outs and LAC tied the game. There was then a strike out and then a ball hit back to the pitcher with a play at home. Two outs, bases still loaded Stephanie Erbacher came to bat, and with 2 strikes she connected with a base hit up the middle bringing in the winning runs. LAC 16U won the tournament with Stephanie Erbacher being named Tournament MVP for her hitting and great catching.

The LAC girls were cheered on the entire game by the Bollate team. They returned to Italy on July 5.
