Congratulations to the Island Trees Chargers. The end of an era has come. This is a great big thank you to the finest group of young ladies any coach could ever ask for. The Chargers have been together as a travel team for seven years, most of the girls from the beginning. Some girls have been playing for Coach Stephen Leverone, Coach Frank Stabb and Coach Bob Condela since they were 4 years old. In the past seven years they have won the Long Island Junior Sportsmanship Award three times. In addition they have taken their division, as well as come in second and third place. They have become more than a team, they have become a family. They attend each other's family functions, in addition, have celebrations throughout the year together. The Charger parents are the best. The come out and cheer on the girls at every game, they support all the coaches, they assist putting up the nets, taking them down, help clean the fields, before and after every game. Their webmaster Joe Weinman, keeps everyone up-to-date with field locations and schedules. He takes team photos all season long and places them on our website. He is always there to lend a hand. The entire team thanks him for his countless hours of work. The Chargers coaches would like to wish all the girls going off to college the best of wishes for their continued success, and a fond thank you to the entire team for sharing these years with your coaches.
