Levittown Fire Department's Chief of Department Mark Janovsky would like to inform all Levittown Fire District residents that the fire whistles in its three fire stations will be utilized this weekend only (Saturday and Sunday), June 30 and July 1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for all alarms.

The fire district is required to have a backup system to alert its firefighters in the event the primary radio system alerting fails. The present system has not been used to any extent in several years. The two-day usage will help officials evaluate the status of the present equipment in use.

Chief Janovsky has stated that he is working on future use of this system to alert the community to severe weather events and other community emergencies other than the normal fire and rescue calls.
