I would like to thank all who turned out on May 15 and voted in the Island Trees Board of Trustee Election and Budget Vote. Although the outcome did not turn out as I had hoped, I must thank each and every resident who cast a vote, or who called me with words of support and encouragement. I promised to represent you, the taxpayer, if elected, and although this did not happen, I promise to stay on point, attending meetings, and keeping the community informed. But now it is incumbent upon all concerned residents to also turn out and attend school board meetings. Many of my supporters who called vowed to begin attending, I hope we have an overflow crowd every month. There are important issues, which I will still be addressing. There are glaring irregularities taking place in our district. They must be remedied. School taxes comprise approximately 60 percent of your total property tax bill. The next two monthly meetings are very important. Please attend the next school board meeting, which will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27at the Gallow School located at 74 Farmedge Road in Levittown. Once again, thank you.
