Francis X. Jackson passed away May 6, 2007 in Winter Park, FL. He was 88. Frank and his wife Patricia E. Donnelly had resided in the Goldenrod section of Orlando since 1983. For many years before, they lived in Great Neck. Frank was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Anton and Elizabeth (Przepierska) Jackson. He grew up in Camden, NJ, where he attended public schools and graduated from Camden High School. From 1939 until the close of WWII, Frank served in the US Army Air Force. He saw service, both as a B-29 mechanic and as a crew chief, in Trinidad; Panama; Alamogordo, NM, and on the island of Tinian. At the time of discharge, he had the rank of Tech Sergeant.
He earned his B.A. and M.F.A. at the Tyler School of Fine Arts, Drexel University, Philadelphia. For 25 years, he taught in the art department of Seaford High School, Seaford. In 2005, Patricia, his wife of 48 years, passed away. Pat, a native of Brooklyn, had been employed for 30 years, at her retirement as a supervisor, by New York Bell Telephone. She and Frank had met on the beach in Ocean City, NJ.
Predeceased by two brothers, Ralph of Camden and Warren of Ocean City, NJ, Frank's survivors include two sisters, Irene E. Schwartz of Pennsauken, NJ, and Elizabeth Holland-George of Columbus, NJ, as well as six nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of the National Cremation Society, Oviedo, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled at a later time at the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Orlando.
