The ride continues for the varsity baseball team as they defeated Great Neck North by the score of 12-5 to complete the three-game sweep. The Bulldog record now stands at 16-1-1. Lefty Joe Sorisi picked up his second win of the year as he struck out seven over four innings of work. Shaun Rutherford led another offensive onslaught, going two for three including a two-run bomb to right centerfield. It was Rutherford's third homerun of the year. Paul DelGiacco went two for four on the day with a double and three more RBIs. Paul has been an RBI machine all year. Dave Darcy also went two for three with a double and two runs scored. Lest we forget, Joe Vaskas had another great day going two for three with two RBI's, two runs and two stolen bases. The Island Trees win coupled with Clarke's loss to Seaford puts the Bulldogs in sole possession of first place in the tough league A4.It sets up a showdown between Nassau County's top 2 baseball programs (ranked #1 and #2 by Newsday). The Island Trees Varsity Softball team had an impressive week, winning four in a row and moving into 1st place. The team defeated #2 ranked Floral Park, 2-0, #3 ranked Glen Cove, 4-2, Carle Place 6-3 and Bethpage 5-1. Sophomore pitcher Jillian McGovern had a remarkable week, posting a combined 43 strikeouts and allowing no more than four hits a game. Christina Merrill continues to lead the team in batting average and on-base percentage, while Beth Hughes and Alysha Ciaramitaro add some power to the Bulldog line-up. The boys' junior varsity lacrosse team defeated Wheatley by the score of 9-0. Tom Enders' early goal gave the Bulldogs the early momentum that would last the whole game. Enders led the Bulldogs with three goals. Goalie Joe Gombar was stellar in the goal, recording his first shutout of the year. Defenseman David Fuentes got into the scoring with and end-to-end goal. John Howard netted two goals and Jaime Sierra, John Paskins and Kierin Garvey each added goals of their own. Justin Habermehl and Mike Caldarera also had tremendous defensive efforts. The seventh grade baseball team defeated Wantagh by the score of 12-9. Kyle Nigro had two hits and two RBIs. Mike Jeannetti had one hit and three RBIs. Ralph Falcone went 2-2 and 2 RBIs. C.J. Novak doubled and had two RBIs.

The seventh grade softball team defeated Bethpage by the score of 12-4.The Lady Bulldogs were led by a homerun by Meghan Acton and some dazzling defensive catches by Anna Miscioscia and Joslyn Urena. Other great performances included Nicole Pellegrino, Brittany Ciaramitaro, Colleen Smith and Samantha Basile.

The eighth grade softball team faced Bethpage and although they did not win, they had many exciting plays in the field. Cassidy Witkowski, Courtney McCall and Kaitlyn McCoy caught pop-ups in the outfield. Andrea Barbera had a homerun, driving in two RBIs. Alyssa Fazio pitched a great game.

The girls' lacrosse team is unstoppable, winning their third game in a row against Plainview 6-1. Goals were scored by Bridget Vilbig, Adrienne Varela, Nadia Akirwe, Kelsey Riegel and Emily Lucas. Kayla Walsh played hard defense and stopped Plainview from scoring. Great effort by Jean Marie Cassar. Erin Carey had a shutout in goal.
