Sports

The forecast was for cloudy skies and cold and windy, but no rain. We got all of that plus we had some snow. When we teed off there was a few patches of blue in the sky. That quickly changed and we had some snow. It was so cold and windy that five men did not finish their round. Twenty men stayed until the bitter end. Surprisingly we had 24 pars. John Pellegrino had a par and two back-to-back birdies on the 3rd, 150-yard, par 3 and the 4th, 200-yard par 3. Let's hope it will be a little warmer for our next tournament.

The next tournament will be on April 19. We sign in as a group at 7 a.m.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 12 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 13 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
