Austin Harvey

Levittown resident Austin Harvey, AMA#166 continued his streak in the 2007 AMA/Toyota Trucks Arenacross Series by wrapping up the series and the championship at the Bi-Lo Arena in Greenville.
Harvey had missed the Albany race due to a crash in practice that rendered his New York Motorcycle/Kawasaki Team Green sponsored bike unridable. He came back into the series with a strong showing at the First Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD two weeks later. Back on the road, Harvey took the win at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV advancing him even higher in the points. His next race at the Wachovia Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA netted him a second place finish as well as a win in the very tough 250C class. Riding his Kawasaki 250F against larger and more powerful 450cc machines, Harvey proved that skill can trump horsepower.
The final stop of the series was hosted in Greenville, SC. Here, Harvey again showed that he was ready and anxious to take home the overall championship. Grabbing the Holeshot every race and leading nearly wire to wire, the #166 bike made short work of every other rider in the class. A cliffhanger finish arose when a lapped rider veered into Harvey's path on the last lap. Harvey maneuvered his Kawasaki in the air to avoid landing on the backmarker and in doing so gave up the lead. Fortunately, his dominant position in the points allowed his second place finish to carry him to the Championship Victory.
Austin is sponsored by New York Motorcycle, Kawasaki Team Green, Allyance Clothing, Dirt Tricks, Winex Helmets, Warp 9, Thor, Spectro Oil, JHV Digital, HRE.COM and his mom and dad.
Special thanks goes out to his mechanic, three-time Daytona Winner Mark Mercadante and his Division Avenue High School administrators, counselors and teachers.
