The Levittown Kiwanis Club will be holding a membership Round-Up in the Panther Room at Levittown Memorial Education Center on Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in hopes of gaining new members for the service organization. At the round-up, Kiwanis members from Levittown and nearby communities will share information about the opportunities that the club provides its members. From networking and friendship, to the feeling of satisfaction that comes from doing community service and helping others, becoming a Kiwanian offers you the opportunity to give back to your community and support young people who are dedicated to helping others.

Please come down to LMEC on Feb. 26 and learn more about the good works that this club does and how you can help. Coffee and cake will be served. If you are interested in attending the membership round-up, please call Club President Peter Ray at 735-7768 by Feb. 19.

Mismatch the Clown, a member of the Levittown Kiwanis Club has regularly held balloon workshops and asked those attending to donate non-perishable food items. Mismatch, a.k.a., Carol Klein, has generously given the food collected to Kiwanis to help feed those in need in our community. These donations have allowed the club to help Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and St. Bernard's Outreach. Both churches have ecumenical food pantries which last year alone, fed more than 10,000 local residents. The Levittown Kiwanis Club, along with some dedicated student volunteers provided face painting and tattoos at last Saturday's Winter Festival which was hosted by the Levittown Community Council. Kids had a blast being painted and getting tattoos of dragonflies, butterflies and more.

In an effort to raise more funds to help the community, the Levittown Kiwanis Club will be hosting its first Spring Fling Craft Fair on Sunday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Island Trees Memorial Middle School on Wantagh Avenue. Funds raised will be used to send underprivileged children from the Levittown community to camp, provide food baskets to struggling families in the community and more. Please stop by and support our community.

Vendors are also needed for this event. If you are interested or need more information, please call 579-5361 or 735-7768.
