Incoming officers of the Levittown Community Council were installed recently by Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes at the annual holiday party at Ground Round.

President Gary Fisch of Wantagh, along with Corresponding Secretary Mary Voulgaris of Levittown, took the oath of office installing them as officers for the term of 2006 to 2007. Incoming First Vice President Mauro Cassano of Levittown will be sworn in at the January meeting of the council.

At a holiday get-together, attended by about 30 people, Lowell Wolf, who served as co-president for one year (2004-2005) with past President Donna Ryan and for one year with Fisch (2005-2006), was recognized by the council for the work he has done and by Hudes on behalf of the Town of Hempstead Council with a certificate of appreciation.

Past President Donna Ryan was also recognized by the Community Council for her tenure as president from 2002 to 2004 and as co-president from 2004 to 2005.

Outgoing Corresponding Secretary Eleanor Walsh was recognized for her service to the organization and by Hudes on behalf of the Town Council with a certificate of appreciation.

Incumbent officers of the Levittown Community Council include Recording Secretary Barbara Fisch; Treasurer Joann Form, Community Affairs Coordinator Robert Koenig and Membership Chairperson Louise Cassano.

The Levittown Community Council was established in 1998, following the 50th anniversary of Levittown, to maintain community pride in Levittown and the communities served by the Levittown and Island Tress school districts and to foster relationships between residents and organizations in those communities. Membership is open to community organizations and residents.
