I am writing this letter to show my support for Joel Bearman, who is running for re-election as fire commissioner in the Levittown Fire Department.
As a lifelong Levittown resident myself, I am proud of the fact that Joel, as also a lifelong Levittown resident, has devoted as much time as he does to this community. Besides all the years he has been in the Levittown Fire Department, serving various duties, he also has been the president of the Levittown Athletic Club (LAC) Girls' Fastpitch Softball League for many years, which has over 350 girls ranging from second grade to 12th grade.
In the years I have known Joel, especially in the league, I have found him to be a fair man, always willing to listen to ideas. Even when we don't agree on certain things, it never gets personal with him. He devotes all of his time to making sure that everything done is in the best interest of the girls, with sportsmanship at the top of the list. I know from my experience with him that our softball league is growing and has become well-known over the past few years because of his leadership. My hope is that he stays on as president as long as he wants. That should be the feeling among all Levittown residents with Joel staying on as fire commissioner. He is a smart, trustworthy man who does not foolishly spend money. In my job as a police officer, I have daily interaction with the Levittown Fire Department, and I can see firsthand the amount of time Joel devotes to the department. He does what is best for the community that this department serves. He is a steady hand at the top. That is what the community always needs and must keep. Please come out and show your support for Joel Bearman, for Levittown Fire Commissioner, on Dec. 12, at Levittown Fire Department Headquarters.
