The Levittown Athletic Club held its annual awards dinner on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Stuart Thomas Manor. This event marked the 50th anniversary of LAC Girls' Softball.

Three divisions, made up of twenty-four teams, were honored for their spring season, as well as six tournament teams and six All-Star teams.

In the Farm's Team #2, the Bulldogs managed by Debbie Breihof and coached by Lisa Alvino and Bill Dumont received trophies for first place for the season and first place for the playoffs, the perfect season. Katherine Birmingham was named the MVP for the playoffs. The Hot Shots, managed by Jeff Jones, coached by Bill Ziegler and Mike Bridgwood received the second place season trophies. The Blue Diamonds received third place for the season and second place for the playoffs. They were managed by Kevin Grieshaber and coached by Mike Petry and Kevin Gehlhaus.

The Minor Division Pink Panthers managed by Bobby Tedeschi and coached Terry Abramowski and Barbara Tedeschi also had the perfect season by winning first place trophies for the season and the playoffs. Second place for the season was awarded to the Blue Angels, managed by Dean Sussman, with Theresa Layne and Elisa Glynn as coaches. The third place season went to the Green Giants, managed and coached by Peter Oggeri and Chris Pasqueralle. The second place for the playoffs went to Jim Goodfield Purple Storm and his coaches Steve Gelblat and Bobby Brown. The Minor playoffs MVP was presented to Taylor Tedeschi for her fantastic pitching.

The Major Division awards were split between two teams. Bill Theissen's girls won first place for the season and second place in the playoffs, with Terry Kenney and Rich Pollina sharing the coaching duties. The Winterfresh, managed by Monica Lanigan and coached by Bill Angehr and Steve Brown won second place season and first place playoffs. Shannon Angehr won the playoffs MVP honor.

Liz Rosenthal received the President's Award for her untiring dedication and hard work throughout the season. Angela DiTieri was presented with the JBEAR Award, which is selected by the Vice Presidents Doug Rosenthal and Bobby Tedeschi, for her dedication and support to LAC. Michelle Bearman was honored with the Frank Klein Award for her long years of playing in LAC.

The manager and coach of the year were presented to Bobby Tedeschi and Terry Abramowski respectively

The All-Stars were awarded trophies with MVP trophies going to Kristin Aquila and Ashley Massoni for the Farms, Deanna Corona and Deena Farrell for the Minors and Katie Chaput and Tara Lanigan for the Majors.

Girls from the six tournament teams were brought up to be recognized, and the 10U and 12U teams were applauded for both being the Babe Ruth Metro New York 2006 Champions. This was the second year in a row for the 12U team and three years for the 10U team.

The evening was completed with a slide show presentation showing pictures of all the girls playing during the regular season, playoffs and tournament teams.
