The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Carle Place in 3 games, 25-6, 25-12 and 25-17. Megan Scher started off the game with 11 aces and the Lady Dogs got out to an 18-0 lead. Allison Llorente, who had 16 assists, did a great job setting up Catie Hollett, Beth Hughes, Megan Scher and Jill Foster. The Island Trees Varsity Cross Country team had their first meet on Tuesday, September 26. The girls were led by Michelle Duffy who finished 3rd overall with a time of 16:04. Mike Battafarano led the boys with an outstanding time of 15:06. Other strong finishers for the Bulldogs were Bill Dmuchowski, Rob Mansky, Mike Pellegrino and Chris Bourgade. Carolyn Alvarez, Michelle Meyer, Joanna Sroga and Jackie Buckley all had strong finishes for the girls.

The Boys' Varsity Soccer team continued their undefeated season at home vs. Great Neck South. With the team tying their previous 3 games, they were desperate for a win. Tied 0-0 at halftime, the boys were in need of a goal. Late in the second half, with about 10 minutes left in the game, John Pascale hit a nice cross into the middle, where John Carey touched it to the left to Matt Brownstone, who put the ball in the back of the net. With our great defense led by goalie Kyle Riegel, the Bulldogs were able to gain another shut-out and their first win of the season.

The Girls' JV Soccer team defeated Baldwin 2-0. Goals were scored by Jess Beissel and Jesse Ciserano. Ashley Alesi had a great day in goal, keeping Baldwin scoreless.

The Boys' JV Soccer team improved their record to 3-2-1 by defeating Carle Place by the score of 2-0. The Bulldogs controlled the pace of the game. Yovani Cruz and Ricky Enriquez each had a goal in a well played game. Tom Enders also had a solid game in goal.

The Bulldogs played their first game of the season against Locust Valley. Even though they lost, several players had a great game. Amongst those players who had an outstanding game were Tyler Byrne, James Lesko, Chris Pascalli, Harry Sopp and Jackson Young.

The 7th grade Boys' Soccer team started off the season with a great win over Wantagh by the score of 5-2. Goals were scored by Sebastian Papasevastos, Mike Pascale, Mike Gronenthal and Piero Neyra. Additional great play came from Mike Ahrens and Rich Salmon.

The girls 8th grade soccer team played their first game of the season against a very challenging Berner team. The girls worked hard and played well. In the first quarter, Erin Carey delivered a corner shot right to Dominique Nacovsky who then passed it to Lisa Indelicato to score our first goal. Our goalies, Stacy Riley and Corinne Dodge played good defense, blocking shots and making diving saves. In the second quarter, Taylor Tedeschi kicked an accurate shot to Meagan Burns who then headed the ball into the net giving us a lead of 2-0. In the third quarter, Berner tied the game 2-2 and with 2 minutes left in the game, they scored the winning goal. The Lady Dogs played hard and demonstrated great sportsmanship.
