Roderick A. "Rod" Russell, 67, of Liberty, NC, died on Sept. 27, 2006 at his home. Born in Brooklyn to the late Roderick Augustus Russell Sr. and Josephine Massa Russell, he was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paige, and a sister, Patricia Burke. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Brenda Florian Russell; children, Roderick Russell III and family of Pennsylvania, Robert Russell and family of Florida, Patricia Maher and family of New York, Patience Terkowski and family of Pennsylvania, Ronald Russell and family of Pennsylvania, Rory Russell and family of Alabama, Shannon Russell and family of New York, Kristine Kenny and family of North Carolina and Mark Russell and family of Greensboro; brother Paul Russell of Liberty; sisters, Barbara Jane Dealbertis and Susan Anne Bako of New York; grandchildren, Katilin, Roderick, Tabitha, Jessica, Alyssa, Chrissy, Tommy, Melissa, Kaileigh, Ricky, Steven, Samantha, R.J., Garbrielle, Alissa; great-grandchildren, Sky Lynn Taylor and Lucy.

Arrangements were made by the Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, NC. A prayer service celebrating his life was held at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
