  • News: '55' Arrives: Levittown Public Library Celebrates its 55th Anniversary

    The Levittown Public Library will commemorate its 55th anniversary on Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Library Director Celeste Watman invites the community to join her on this special day. The celebration will begin with a performance by Levittown's Brass and Percussion. Throughout the day, special events will take place. You can meet celebrity Kevin Covais. Enjoy the performances of the Levittown PAL Twirlers, a mime and Mother Goose and watch a balloon sculpting artist and more. Furthermore, Levittown UFSD residents will be granted amnesty (fine forgiveness) only for Levittown Public Library materials returned on Oct 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. FULL STORY

  • News: Levittown School District Releases E.L.A. Test Results

    The State of New York released the 2006 E.L.A. test results last week. The Levittown community can take much pride in the results of Levittown students in grades three, four, five, six, seven, and eight on these tests. Compared to other school districts in Nassau County - one of the highest achieving areas in the state and in the country - Levittown students achieved within 1 percentage point or above county passing averages in five of the six grade levels tested, with three grade levels (grades five, seven, and eight) exceeding the county average.   • Sports: Island Trees Soccer Update

    Phantoms versus Strykers, 5-0. Excellent goalkeeping by the Verdi brothers John and Michael. First-half goals scored by Rich Rogers and Jonathan Martinez. Second-half goals scored by Christopher McPherson and two goals by Joseph Sarchie. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Island Trees Athletics

    The Boys' Varsity Soccer team continued their undefeated season at home vs. Great Neck South. With the team tying their previous 3 games, they were desperate for a win. Tied 0-0 at halftime, the boys were in need of a goal. Late in the second half, with about 10 minutes left in the game, John Pascale hit a nice cross into the middle, where John Carey touched it to the left to Matt Brownstone, who put the ball in the back of the net. With our great defense led by goalie Kyle Riegel, the Bulldogs were able to gain another shut-out and their first win of the season. FULL STORY
