On Tuesdays, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Levittown Central Baseball will be holding registration at American Legion Post 1711, 3123 North Jerusalem Ave. in Levittown. The fee for different divisions varies: $50 for 4-year-olds (Instructional), $75 for T-ball and Rookies (ages 5-7), $95 for Farms, Minors, Majors (ages 8-12) and $155 for Seniors (ages 13 - 18). There is a $15 discount for two or more children from the same family in the league (except 4-year-olds and seniors). Levittown North Baseball will be holding an Early Bird Registration Friday, Sept. 15 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 pm and Saturday Sept. 16 from noon until 3 p.m. Both registrations will be held at Whelan Field located at the corner of Wantagh Avenue and Red Maple Drive, just south of the CVS Shopping Center. If it rains the registrations will move indoors to the Hunt Road School bus facility. Those who take advantage of the Early Bird Registration will be able to save up to $15 per child and $50 per family off the regular season price.
The available divisions are as follows:
Peanut Division: (4-year-olds and first time 5-year-olds) T-Ball with honker bases.
Rookie Division: (5-year-olds who have played before and 6-year-olds). Pitching machine.
(Please note that the Peanut and Rookie Games do not start until mid-day.)
Pinto Division: 7- and 8-year-old players. Live pitching 40 foot mound.
Mustang Division: 9- and 10-year-old players. 46 foot mound.
Bronco Division: 11- and 12-year-old players. 51 foot mound.
Middle School Division: Regulation Major League field and rules.
High School Division: Regulation Major League Field and rules.
All divisions usually play two games per week. A full uniform is included in the registration fee. For ages 7 and up, their uniform will be MLB style with your child's name and favorite number on the back.

Bowling - ages 5 and up. COED - Divisions - Bumpers, Bantams, Juniors and Seniors. Fee: $35 + weekly bowling fees: Bumpers and Bantams $7 per week, Juniors & Seniors $9 per week. Teen Scholarship Program $40 + Weekly bowling fees of $11. Includes: Free shoes, bowling shirt, seasonal parties and trophy/medals. Karate - ages 7 - 18 years. COED - Learn the art of self-defense and discipline, while having fun! Classes held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at Memorial Education Center starting Oct. 4. Fee: $45 initial + $70 every three months. Family discounts available.
Tennis - Ages 7 - 15 years. COED, lessons on Modern Indoor Tennis Courts, Professional Tennis Instruction. Bring Racquet and sneakers (balls will be provided). Classes at Sportime, 101 Norcross Ave., Bethpage (933-8500). Ten registrants to one instructor per class. These are considered beginner classes although everyone is welcome to join. Classes on Sunday evenings starting Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. Program runs for eight weekly one-hour sessions. Age groups 7, 8 and 9 and the other 10 and older. Fee: $90.
Twirling - ages 5 - 18 years. COED, students will learn all aspects of Competitive - World Class - Baton Twirling. Registered instructors who are also a lot of fun! Levittown Cool Twirlers are currently ESTA and Star Power Grand Champions and will be competing regionally and nationally again this year as well as hosting local recitals. Classes for new students will be held on Tuesdays 6:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. One baton and T-shirt included. Fee: $45 initial + $70 every three months.

The St. Frances de Chantal Squires will be expanding its successful youth athletic program with the addition of a Basketball Program on Tuesday nights beginning Sept. 12. The group's popular Dodge Ball program will be resuming on Thursday nights, beginning Sept. 14. Both programs, which will be held at an East Meadow location to be confirmed, are open to young men between the ages of 12 and 16.
The goal is for everyone who participates to have fun: Teams are formed on site from the players who show up, who then play against each other. There is no cost for this activity and further information can be obtained by calling Kevin Gorman at 826-9889. The Squires are sponsored by the St. Frances Council of the Knights of Columbus.
