I feel the need to respond to the politically motivated garbage that I read in Mike Miller's viewpoint. It is nothing but a political leftist cheap shot aimed at the president and America.
First, Mr. Miller, if you were truly informed, scientists have studied this phenomenon of global warming as it affects earth and several other planets in this solar system. Guess what? Other planets have also been affected! And not by America's industrial might (which is the envy of the world). That means that the sun is in a hotter phase and there isn't a thing we can do about that; it's happened before and it will happen again. We didn't create this earth and our industrial progress isn't destroying it. In fact, you failed to mention the pollution from the developing nations of India and China, only America. No leftist agenda there!
Second, with this knowledge in mind, I'm glad that the president stopped wasteful spending of tax dollars on a science project, the results of which we already know, as explained previously. He needs to veto more wasteful spending.
And last, but not least, is the Kyoto protocol that Mike Miller mentioned. Like a true leftist, he failed to mention that this nonsense was the brainchild of no less than the largest American-hating institution on earth: the U.N. And it's no surprise that China (our great Commie threat) exempted themselves from the treaty so they could develop their economy, and hoped that we'd be dumb enough to sign it and stifle our own. Remember the Carter years? I say, "Never again!"
Now that you know the truth, try not to be distraught by fear-mongers like the Mike Millers of the world. The earth has survived fluctuations of the sun's temperature before, and it is not a good reason for American to go into a panic mode to the delight of the left and the U.N.
