Because of the hot and humid weather we had a lot of golfers stay home, but we did have 31 dedicated men who did play today. The scores were not too bad, considering the hot weather. Out of 31 men, 13 shot net par or less. We had 25 pars and 1 birdie by Larry Baroletti on the 157 yard, par 3, 7th hole. Larry also won overall low for the tournament. We had two playoffs in the match play today and two more that must be played before the next tournament.

The next tournament will be on Aug. 17. We sign in as a group at 7 a.m. Don't be late. Sign your receipt.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 12 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 13 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age or older is eligible.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, we regret that we must limit our membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
