Wentworth Institute of Technology senior tri-captain Joe Marcel of Levittown played in all 13 of Wentworth's games, scoring 16 goals and adding an assist for 17 points. Playing both midfield and attach, Marcel picked up 25 ground balls and tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals. The 2006 Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, Marcel finishes his career as the eleventh highest scorer in school history, scoring 78 points (59 goals, 19 assists) in 53 career games.

Jodi Schoppmann, a Levittown native and member of the SUNY Potsdam cross-country team, has been named to the National Academic All-American Women's Track and Cross-Country Second Team. The national team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors Association (COSIDA) and presented by ESPN The Magazine. Named a 2006 District 1 first team recipient earlier this month, Schoppmann then advanced to the national ballot.
A Potsdam senior graduating with a 3.97 grade point average, Schoppmann was a music education and performance major in the Crane School of Music. She was named to the President's List for five semesters and was a member of the advanced honors program.
As a recipient of the 2006 Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, Schoppmann was among the most outstanding students in the State University of New York System as she was honored by SUNY Chancellor John R. Ryan.
Previously named a recipient of the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) 2005 Fall Sports Graduate Scholarship, Schoppmann was among eight Division III women who were then recognized by the NCAA.
Schoppmann was also selected as the 2004-05 recipient of the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Dr. Dolores Bogard Award. The award is presented annually to a junior or senior athlete with the best combination of academic and athletic ability. Schoppmann was the first woman from SUNY Potsdam to receive this honor.
Named to the SUNYAC All-Academic team in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, Schoppmann is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Phi Education Honor Society, Phi Mo Epsilon Math Honor Society and the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society.
Schoppmann was twice an ECAC Athlete of the Week and earned four first place finishes during the Bears Fall 2005 season. Schoppmann finished 27th in the 2004 NCAA Division III Cross-Country Championship Race held at the University of Wisconsin to be named an All-American.
