After the birth of his first grandchild, Tyler, he immediately took a positive posture and joined Weight Watchers in March 2005.
"I had heard that Weight Watchers was the most practical and realistic way to lose weight and understood that I was not starting a diet but rather making a lifestyle change," Schmitt said.
By attending the weekly meetings and gradually losing weight, he began to feel physically better. The compliments from family, friends and his Weight Watchers buddies were inspirational.
"I have successfully reached my goal weight and achieved lifetime membership and have vowed to keep attending meetings to support my Weight Watchers buddies," he added. I have said good-bye to the old Ed forever."
Schmitt said that because of his success, his daughter Jennifer joined and has "also been successful in her weight loss efforts."
Right after her 34th birthday, Jennifer Schmitt decided to fix the things in her life that she felt were broken and decided losing weight and feeling better about her appearance was a great place to start.
"I joined Weight Watchers wanting to follow in my father's footsteps and make him as proud of me with my weight loss as I was with him," she explained. "We attend meetings together and both love the support we get from each other, and our meetings."
Now she is proud of the healthy choices she makes and finally feels great about the way she looks.
"The compliments I get from family, friends and co-workers keep me on track and motivated to reach my goal."
