  • News: Levittown Salutes, Celebrates Veterans on Memorial Day

    Levittown American Legion Post 1711 once again hosted the annual Memorial Day parade this year in Levittown, featuring dozens of participants who stepped off from Island Trees Middle School and headed down Hempstead Turnpike to Veterans Memorial Park outside the Levittown Library. Levittown's parade, one of the largest on Long Island, was again chaired by American Legion PPC Henry To. FULL STORY

    The Levittown Property Owners Association met on May 9, with President Jim Morrow presiding. The guest speakers were: Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes, Town of Hempstead Senior Deputy Attorney Charles S. Kovit and Town of Hempstead Department of Buildings Chief Plan Examiner Lois Carnovale. They spoke on issues which are both current and long unresolved. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Island Trees Athletics

    The eighth grade baseball team defeated Salk by the score of 8-4. Dan Bartlett pitched five strong innings, allowing just two earned runs, while striking out seven. Dan also went one-for-two with an RBI. Chris Nickel's three-run homerun and Bryan Verbitsky's solo homerun helped keep the game out of reach. Also contributing with hits were Bryan Peterson, Cody Abramson and Brandon Garcia. The eighth grade team then won its fourth straight game by defeating Hicksville by the score of 8-1. Bryan Verbitsky pitched a gem, allowing just one run on two hits with 11 strikeouts in four innings of work. George Balsamo pitched the final three innings, striking out eight batters. Offensively, lead-off batter Cody Abramson led the way, scoring three runs and stealing four bases. Chris Nickel belted his second homerun of the season and Bryan Verbitsky hit a triple. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Registration Information

    Levittown Swimming Association will be having swim team registrations for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 on Friday, June 9 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Levittown Hall and June 15 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Levittown Hall. Must bring copy of birth certificate (new swimmers only). All swimmers must bring a copy of either a water or electric bill. Visit for registration forms and further information. FULL STORY
