The Varsity Baseball Club defeated Great Neck North 13-0. Dan Hart pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only four hits and inducing 14 groundball outs. Dan is now 3-0. Dave Darcy turned in a "web gem" with an all out dive to his left at third base and came up firing to throw out Mike Linell. Justin Muscarella and Anthony Jeannetti were both solid in the field. The bats were led by Joe Vaskas, who went four for five including two solo homeruns. Pete Marchelos homered deep to left in the sixth inning. Pete also added two RBI's. The Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center is forming a girls soccer team for ages 8-15 that will compete in a spring/summer, indoor/outdoor league. Led by experienced coaches, the girls will participate in local competitions. Practices will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.; the first practice is scheduled for Monday, May 8. The JCC is located at 45 Manetto Hill Road in Plainview. The fee, which includes a uniform, is $225 for JCC members and $325 for non-members. Pre-registration is required by Sunday, May 7.
