The Levittown Kiwanis Club will be hosting its seventh annual Community Pride Day on Saturday, May 13. The event, which is free and open to everyone, will take place at MacLaren Field on Loring Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Each year Levittown Kiwanis hosts Community Pride Day as a way for local organizations to showcase themselves. This event originated following the 50th Anniversary of Levittown. There were so many festivities associated with that celebration that community groups wanted to keep up that spirit and camaraderie. Each organization will have a table with materials to inform residents about what they do.
In addition to information about various groups, Levittown Community Pride Day features refreshments, a DJ, pony rides, a jump castle, face painting and tattoos for the kids. The Town of Hempstead Mobile Town Hall will be at the event for families that wish to put together Child ID Kits.
This event is made possible by a generous donation from the Levittown-Island Trees Youth Council and donations from other community organizations that wish to help out. There is no cost to any group that wishes to participate.
If anyone is interested in having a table at the event or would like further information, please contact Levittown Kiwanis President Peter Ray at 735-7768.
